Football Aid 2018
Our 2018 game at The Stadium of Light was a hugely enjoyable event for all involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to our Black Cats fans for their excellent efforts on the pitch and Legends Kevin Ball, Jimmy Montgomery and Darren Holloway for their fantastic support on the day.

History & Background
Our debut event at the Stadium of Light took place in May 2001 with former Black Cats heroes Richie Pitt and Bobby Kerr acting as Managers for the excited fans involved. We continued to host a run of successful games with the club up until 2007, with famous names, including Niall Quinn, Gary Bennett, Kevin Ball, Marco Gabbiadini, Micky Horswill, Craig Russell, Len Ashurst and John Kay all involved. After a break for a few years we were delighted to make a return to the Stadium of Light on 15th May 2017 and our games since have featured Legends Darren Holloway, Gary Bennett, Micky Horswill, Kevin Ball and Jimmy Montgomery.
We also hosted England vs Rep of Ireland matches at the Stadium of Light in 2017 and 2018 and the success of the games means they are likely to become a permanent feature in our calendar.
Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
