Player Stories

It was a day that certainly I will not soon forget. Playing in the stadium where all my childhood idols played, with that jersey and symbol to the chest was wonderful. Even more, for the cause itself and for being able to help the Fundaçlão Sporting that does such good work. Certainly next year I will be back. Thanks for the opportunity.

Football Aid 2018

Our 2018 games at Estádio José Alvalade were hugely enjoyable events and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to all our Sporting CP fans for their excellent efforts on the field.

History & Background

We were very excited to allow fans of Sporting Clube de Portugal the chance to play in our 1st ever match in Portugal on Sat 6th June 2015. The debut match at the UEFA 5-star rated Estádio José Alvalade saw Sporting fans fly in from all over the globe to take part and the match certainly lived up to expectations, with the Home team scoring a last minute winner to seal a famous win 8-7! The event proved to be such a success that we've been able to host a series of matches with the Lisbon giants ever since.

Our matches at the Estádio José Alvalade are organised in association with the Fundaçlão Sporting and we're extremely privileged to have their valuable support.

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
