Player Stories

I was so impressed with all the hard work and time you all put into these games for the many charities you support. Not only did I get to meet 3 of my idols when I was growing up but I also got to play at Ewood Park. Honestly I'm 33 years old and last night I was like a kid at Christmas!

Football Aid 2018

Our 2018 game at Ewood Park was another hugely enjoyable event for all involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to our Rovers fans for their excellent efforts on the pitch and Legends David Dunn, Kevin Gallacher and Damien Johnson for their fantastic support on the night.

You can check out Match Reports below and official photographs in our Image Gallery.

Blackburn Rovers hold a special place in our history, with them being the 1st English club to sign up to host a Football Aid game. That game kicked off on the 3rd May 2001 with ex-pros Glenn Keeley and Alan Ainscrow in attendance and it started an unbroken run of games at Ewood Park ever since! Fans' favourites like David Dunn, Colin Hendry, Mark Atkins, Damien Johnson, Tony Parkes, Simon Garner, Mark Patterson, Alan Kelly, Simon Ireland, Richard Brown, Marlon Broomes and Chris Sulley have all joined in the fun over the years and we were honoured to sign up Kevin Gallacher as our club Ambassador in 2006.

Our games at Ewood Park are organised in association with the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and we're privileged to have their valuable support.

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
